Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Information Services and Computers & Peripherals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were United Renewable Energy Co Ltd (TW:3576), which rose 10.00% or 1.25 points to trade at 13.75 at the close. G.M.I Technology Inc (TW:3312) added 9.95% or 7.50 points to end at 82.90 and Danen Technology Corp (TW:3686) was up 9.93% or 2.15 points to 23.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pegatron Corp (TW:4938), which lost 10.48% or 12.00 points to trade at 102.50 in late trade. Spirox Corp (TW:3055) declined 10.00% or 10.40 points to end at 93.60 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) shed 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.65% or 0.53 to $82.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.54% or 0.46 to hit $85.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.75 to trade at $2,335.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.32% to 32.46, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.31% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 105.73.
