Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Action Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3024), which rose 10.00% or 0.610 points to trade at 6.710 at the close. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) added 9.96% or 3.55 points to end at 39.20 and Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) was up 9.75% or 1.35 points to 15.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518), which lost 9.95% or 3.85 points to trade at 34.85 in late trade. Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153) declined 9.68% or 4.30 points to end at 40.10 and Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) shed 9.61% or 2.60 points to 24.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 491 to 280 and 108 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.67% or 0.39 to $58.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.33% or 0.86 to hit $65.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1247.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.02% to 30.027, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2203.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.88.
