Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Trading & Consumer Goods and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Abocom Systems Inc (TW:2444), which rose 9.93% or 1.50 points to trade at 16.60 at the close. Inventec Besta Co Ltd (TW:8201) added 9.82% or 1.35 points to end at 15.10 and Eastern Media International Corp (TW:2614) was up 8.79% or 1.20 points to 14.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included President Chain Store Corp (TW:2912), which lost 9.93% or 36.50 points to trade at 331.00 in late trade. Unitech Computer Co Ltd (TW:2414) declined 6.44% or 1.40 points to end at 20.35 and Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) shed 6.00% or 0.75 points to 11.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 429 to 359 and 128 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.45% or 0.31 to $68.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.91% or 0.67 to hit $74.11 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1227.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.03% to 30.612, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2212.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.31.
