Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hung Chou Fiber Ind Co Ltd (TW:1413), which rose 9.98% or 0.80 points to trade at 8.82 at the close. King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) added 9.95% or 1.85 points to end at 20.45 and Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434) was up 9.85% or 1.00 points to 11.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included APAQ Technology Co Ltd (TW:6449), which lost 9.82% or 6.10 points to trade at 56.00 in late trade. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) declined 9.82% or 13.50 points to end at 124.00 and Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) shed 9.77% or 1.95 points to 18.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 448 to 360 and 100 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.21% or 0.13 to $61.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $65.47 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.50 to trade at $1313.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 29.370, while TWD/CNY rose 0.94% to 0.2149.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 90.20.
