Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electricity and Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.16% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 9.84% or 1.80 points to trade at 20.10 at the close. Bright Led Electronics Corp (TW:3031) added 7.86% or 1.65 points to end at 22.65 and Edison Opto Corp (TW:3591) was up 7.07% or 1.70 points to 25.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kinpo Electronics Inc (TW:2312), which lost 10.00% or 3.35 points to trade at 30.15 in late trade. Daxin Materials Corp (TW:5234) declined 9.91% or 22.50 points to end at 204.50 and Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593) shed 9.87% or 0.60 points to 5.48.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.30% or 0.21 to $69.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $72.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.95% or 25.30 to trade at $2,686.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.04% to 32.55, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 105.88.
