Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Construction and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374), which rose 10.00% or 7.20 points to trade at 79.20 at the close. Universal Inc (TW:1325) added 10.00% or 3.15 points to end at 34.65 and Min Aik Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:4545) was up 9.96% or 4.70 points to 51.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tainan Enterprises Co Ltd (TW:1473), which lost 9.98% or 5.30 points to trade at 47.80 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and JSL Construction & Development Co Ltd (TW:2540) shed 7.14% or 14.00 points to 182.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.11% or 0.09 to $79.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.07% or 0.06 to hit $84.19 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 8.15 to trade at $2,337.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 32.38, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 105.02.
