Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Machinery, Semiconductor and Electrical/Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 2.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645), which rose 10.00% or 3.95 points to trade at 43.45 at the close. Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) added 9.99% or 7.10 points to end at 78.20 and China Wire & Cable Co Ltd (TW:1603) was up 9.96% or 3.70 points to 40.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abonmax Co Ltd (TW:2429), which lost 9.91% or 2.70 points to trade at 24.55 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Wah Lee Industrial Corp (TW:3010) shed 9.19% or 12.50 points to 123.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.53% or 0.41 to $77.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.35% or 0.28 to hit $79.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.30 to trade at $2,473.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was unchanged 0.00% to 32.45, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.23% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.02.
