Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Machinery and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 2.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hsin Ba Ba Corp (TW:9906), which rose 10.00% or 15.00 points to trade at 165.00 at the close. Roundtop Machinery Industries Co Ltd (TW:1540) added 10.00% or 3.15 points to end at 34.65 and King’s Town Construction Co Ltd (TW:2524) was up 10.00% or 7.20 points to 79.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EZconn Corp (TW:6442), which lost 9.97% or 48.00 points to trade at 433.50 in late trade. Parpro Corp (TW:4916) declined 9.85% or 3.70 points to end at 33.85 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) shed 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.76% or 0.59 to $77.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.72% or 0.59 to hit $81.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.58% or 38.15 to trade at $2,377.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 32.73, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.23% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 103.98.
