Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Computers & Peripherals, Construction and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593), which rose 10.00% or 1.75 points to trade at 19.25 at the close. Aurotek Corp (TW:6215) added 10.00% or 5.80 points to end at 63.80 and Lite-On Technology Corp (TW:2301) was up 9.99% or 9.90 points to 109.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Ya Horng Electronic Co Ltd (TW:6201) declined 6.36% or 4.10 points to end at 60.40 and Everlight Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2393) shed 6.15% or 4.80 points to 73.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.96% or 0.73 to $77.04 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.91% or 0.72 to hit $80.24 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.25% or 31.00 to trade at $2,511.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.16% to 32.74, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.36% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 104.01.
