Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Electronics and Electrical/Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.88% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Evermore Chemical Industry Co Ltd (TW:1735) added 9.93% or 2.10 points to end at 23.25 and Ledtech Electronics Corp (TW:6164) was up 9.67% or 1.63 points to 18.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. LARGAN Precision Co Ltd (TW:3008) declined 8.64% or 220.00 points to end at 2,325.00 and RichWave Technology Corp (TW:4968) shed 6.99% or 13.50 points to 179.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.49% or 0.34 to $69.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.34% or 0.25 to hit $73.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 9.50 to trade at $2,739.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.32% to 31.96, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.41% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.35.
