Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Electricity and Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 10.00% or 0.95 points to trade at 10.45 at the close. Epileds Technologies Inc (TW:4956) added 9.96% or 3.40 points to end at 37.55 and Kaori Heat Treatment Co Ltd (TW:8996) was up 9.95% or 31.00 points to 342.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included HiTi Digital Inc (TW:3494), which lost 55.00% or 9.63 points to trade at 7.88 in late trade. Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593) declined 9.95% or 1.04 points to end at 9.41 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) shed 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.06% or 0.04 to $69.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $73.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 8.00 to trade at $2,639.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.37% to 32.49, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.36% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 106.22.
