Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Semiconductor and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 1.18% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tai Twun Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3432), which rose 9.98% or 2.65 points to trade at 29.20 at the close. Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) added 9.95% or 6.00 points to end at 66.30 and Solomon Technology Corp (TW:2359) was up 9.94% or 15.50 points to 171.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tainan Enterprises Co Ltd (TW:1473), which lost 9.96% or 5.40 points to trade at 48.80 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Shih Wei Navigation Co Ltd (TW:5608) shed 9.07% or 2.05 points to 20.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.27% or 0.21 to $78.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $82.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.09% or 25.65 to trade at $2,329.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 32.33, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.04% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 104.38.
