Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Electronic Products Distribution and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.16% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were KYE Systems Corp (TW:2365), which rose 10.00% or 3.50 points to trade at 38.50 at the close. CyberTAN Technology Inc (TW:3062) added 10.00% or 2.65 points to end at 29.15 and Bestec Power Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3308) was up 9.98% or 2.80 points to 30.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Textile Co Ltd (TW:1445), which lost 13.83% or 3.25 points to trade at 20.25 in late trade. Shin Zu Shing Co Ltd (TW:3376) declined 9.90% or 25.50 points to end at 232.00 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) shed 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.10% or 0.08 to $80.79 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.09% or 0.08 to hit $85.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 2.25 to trade at $2,344.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 32.38, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 104.88.
