Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Other Electronic and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which rose 9.99% or 4.25 points to trade at 46.80 at the close. Everlight Chemical Industrial Corp (TW:1711) added 9.98% or 2.45 points to end at 27.00 and Tong-Tai Machine Tool Co Ltd (TW:4526) was up 9.97% or 3.50 points to 38.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) shed 4.50% or 6.50 points to 138.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.41% or 0.31 to $76.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.42% or 0.33 to hit $79.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.51% or 13.15 to trade at $2,547.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.28% to 31.98, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.40% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 101.30.
