Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Trading & Consumer Goods, Machinery and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Harvatek Corp (TW:6168), which rose 9.97% or 1.75 points to trade at 19.30 at the close. CoAdna Holdings Inc (TW:4984) added 9.95% or 3.65 points to end at 40.35 and Anderson Industrial Corp (TW:1528) was up 9.92% or 1.30 points to 14.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512), which lost 9.73% or 1.10 points to trade at 10.20 in late trade. Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) declined 8.46% or 1.15 points to end at 12.45 and Nien Made Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:8464) shed 6.46% or 19.50 points to 282.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 423 to 316 and 138 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.36% or 0.20 to $55.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $61.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 4.25 to trade at $1282.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.33% to 30.056, while TWD/CNY rose 0.32% to 0.2211.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 93.54.
