Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Machinery, Plastic and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:2466), which rose 9.89% or 3.75 points to trade at 41.65 at the close. Kinko Optical Co Ltd (TW:6209) added 9.88% or 2.50 points to end at 27.80 and Shin Zu Shing Co Ltd (TW:3376) was up 9.86% or 18.00 points to 200.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BizLink Holding Inc (TW:3665), which lost 9.91% or 67.00 points to trade at 609.00 in late trade. Li Cheng Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:4426) declined 8.70% or 1.10 points to end at 11.55 and Advancetek Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1442) shed 6.01% or 4.60 points to 72.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.43% or 1.01 to $69.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.56% or 0.41 to hit $72.98 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.31% or 34.89 to trade at $2,618.41 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was unchanged 0.00% to 32.69, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 107.82.
