Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Auto, Optoelectronic and Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.48% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Kaori Heat Treatment Co Ltd (TW:8996), which rose 9.97% or 3.90 points to trade at 43.00 at the close. BenQ Materials Corp (TW:8215) added 9.95% or 1.90 points to end at 21.00 and Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) was up 9.95% or 0.76 points to 8.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cheng Loong Corp (TW:1904), which lost 5.77% or 1.20 points to trade at 19.60 in late trade. Epistar Corp (TW:2448) declined 5.74% or 2.45 points to end at 40.25 and Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467) shed 5.47% or 2.05 points to 35.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 402 to 372 and 100 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.16% or 0.08 to $50.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $55.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.46% or 6.14 to trade at $1319.06 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 30.078, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2180.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 91.67.
