Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Glass and Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.45% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Meiloon Industrial Co Ltd (TW:2477), which rose 10.00% or 2.25 points to trade at 24.75 at the close. Roo Hsing Co Ltd (TW:4414) added 10.00% or 0.29 points to end at 3.19 and Davicom Semiconductor Inc (TW:3094) was up 10.00% or 3.65 points to 40.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ritek Corp (TW:2349), which lost 10.00% or 1.80 points to trade at 16.20 in late trade. EverFocus Electronics Corp (TW:5484) declined 9.97% or 9.60 points to end at 86.70 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) shed 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.46% or 0.38 to $83.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.33% or 0.28 to hit $85.68 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.41% or 9.85 to trade at $2,412.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.25% to 32.53, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 104.18.
