Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Paper & Pulp and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. CX Technology Corp (TW:2415) added 9.97% or 3.15 points to end at 34.75 and Holtek Semiconductor Inc (TW:6202) was up 9.95% or 4.75 points to 52.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Asia Optical Co Inc (TW:3019) declined 9.51% or 12.50 points to end at 119.00 and Formosa Oilseed Processing Co Ltd (TW:1225) shed 7.53% or 11.00 points to 135.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.25% or 0.17 to $67.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.30% or 0.21 to hit $70.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 6.80 to trade at $2,688.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.08% to 31.72, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 100.57.
