Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Glass, Financials and Electronic Products Distribution sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Global View Co Ltd (TW:3040), which rose 10.00% or 3.50 points to trade at 38.50 at the close. ASRock Inc (TW:3515) added 10.00% or 19.50 points to end at 214.50 and Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) was up 9.95% or 2.10 points to 23.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW:1470) shed 7.23% or 1.85 points to 23.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $75.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $78.64 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 12.75 to trade at $2,540.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.26% to 31.99, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 100.78.
