Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electronics, Electrical/Machinery and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taiwan Chelic Corp Ltd (TW:4555), which rose 10.00% or 4.05 points to trade at 44.55 at the close. G.M.I Technology Inc (TW:3312) added 10.00% or 7.90 points to end at 86.90 and AVerMedia Technologies Inc (TW:2417) was up 9.99% or 4.50 points to 49.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 10.00% or 0.26 points to trade at 2.34 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Apex International Co Ltd (TW:4927) shed 4.55% or 2.50 points to 52.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.23% or 0.17 to $73.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.19% or 0.15 to hit $77.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 2.80 to trade at $2,553.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 31.95, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 101.34.
