Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Auto, Electronic Parts/Components and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.12% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Walton Advanced Engineering Inc (TW:8110), which rose 10.00% or 1.60 points to trade at 17.60 at the close. Aurotek Corp (TW:6215) added 10.00% or 2.00 points to end at 22.00 and Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153) was up 9.96% or 3.50 points to 38.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Darwin Precisions Corp (TW:6120), which lost 9.95% or 3.25 points to trade at 29.40 in late trade. Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) declined 7.69% or 9.00 points to end at 108.00 and Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) shed 6.34% or 9.00 points to 133.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 406 to 334 and 138 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.63% or 0.34 to $54.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.56% or 0.34 to hit $61.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 6.05 to trade at $1276.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 30.149, while TWD/CNY fell 0.36% to 0.2194.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 94.49.
