Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electricity, Chemicals and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were ASRock Inc (TW:3515), which rose 9.99% or 7.20 points to trade at 79.30 at the close. Altek Corp (TW:3059) added 9.98% or 2.70 points to end at 29.75 and Pan Jit International Inc (TW:2481) was up 9.98% or 3.00 points to 33.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yoko International Corp (TW:6131), which lost 7.13% or 1.55 points to trade at 20.20 in late trade. Shin Shin Co Ltd (TW:2901) declined 3.91% or 1.10 points to end at 27.00 and Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) shed 3.85% or 5.00 points to 125.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 401 to 362 and 114 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.47% or 0.27 to $57.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.62% or 0.39 to hit $62.85 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.00% or 0.03 to trade at $1294.87 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.10% to 29.963, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2198.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 93.08.
