Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Glass, Hotels and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Giantplus Technology Co Ltd (TW:8105), which rose 10.00% or 2.05 points to trade at 22.55 at the close. Young Optics Inc (TW:3504) added 10.00% or 5.50 points to end at 60.50 and Mirle Automation Corp (TW:2464) was up 9.95% or 4.05 points to 44.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526), which lost 7.68% or 2.55 points to trade at 30.65 in late trade. Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) declined 6.25% or 1.40 points to end at 21.00 and BizLink Holding Inc (TW:3665) shed 5.47% or 13.50 points to 233.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 438 to 338 and 105 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.14% or 0.07 to $48.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.23% or 0.12 to hit $52.60 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.09 to trade at $1291.51 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.04% to 30.336, while TWD/CNY fell 0.23% to 0.2197.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.48.
