The 2024 NFL season kicks off on Wednesday, March 13, setting the stage for an exciting period of free agency and team trades. As these moves shake up team rosters, they’re also causing shifts in the Super Bowl LIX betting odds across sports betting platforms.

Here's a look at some of the biggest moves and how the Super Bowl LIX odds have changed.

What Happened: The Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII to become the first team in 19 seasons to win back-to-back Super Bowls. The Chiefs remain one of the betting favorites to win a third-straight Super Bowl, a feat that has never happened in NFL history.

While the Chiefs have been relatively quiet in the post-Super Bowl period, the team did re-sign defensive lineman Chris Jones to keep one of their star defensive players from hitting free agency.

Other teams have been more active in the early days of free agency, as teams were able to negotiate with players beginning Monday and many verbal contracts have been signed ahead of Wednesday's start to the season.

Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers were among the hot positions targeted in the early days of free agency. Here's a look at some of the key signings.

Some of the most notable acquisitions to date were QB Kirk Cousins with the Atlanta Falcons, RB Saquon Barkley with the Philadelphia Eagles and QB Russell Wilson with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cousins was one of the most coveted free agents among quarterbacks and is moving from the Minnesota Vikings to the Falcons. Cousins signed a four-year $180 million deal, which comes with some risks as he suffered an injury last season and is 35 years old. The Falcons have needed a franchise quarterback for many years and the deal is being positively received by analysts and sportsbooks.

Barkley makes the move from the Giants, where he has spent his entire NFL career, to the NFC East division rival Philadelphia Eagles. The move has boosted the Super Bowl odds for the Eagles.

Wilson moves on from the Denver Broncos and heads to the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year deal, which is seen as a strategic move for him before considering longer-term options in the next offseason .

Cousins, Barkley, Wilson Prop Bets: With the major signings of Cousins with the Falcons, Barkley with the Eagles, and Wilson with the Steelers, DraftKings Inc (NASDAQ:DKNG) is introducing prop bets for these athletes for the 2024 NFL season.

For Cousins, the prop bets are on passing touchdowns with 30+ paying at +120, 35+ paying at +450 and 40+ paying at 1,200. Bettors can also bet on Cousins passing for 4,5000 or more yards at odds of +425.

Cousins has achieved over 4,000 passing yards in seven seasons, missing this mark in only one season where he played 16 or more games. His career high is 4,917 yards. Cousins has passed for 30 or more touchdown in three seasons, with 35 his most.

For Barkley, the current prop bet involves the division rivalry of the Eagles and Giants. Bettors can bet on Barkley scoring two or more touchdowns vs. the Giants (+110), three or more touchdowns vs. the Giants (+275) or four or more touchdowns vs. the Giants (+800). The Eagles will play the Giants twice during the season.

Wilson’s betting props includes bets on passing yards with 3,500+ at +200, 4,000+ at +650 and 4,500+ at +2,000. Bettors can also bet on Wilson's passing touchdowns of 25+ at +210, 30+ at +500 and 35+ at +1,300.

Wilson recorded 3,070 passing yards and 26 touchdowns last season. Over his 12-year NFL career, he has exceeded 3,500 yards in six seasons and reached over 4,000 yards in four of those. Wilson's career high passing yards is 4,219. He has thrown for 25+ passing touchdowns in nine seasons, with a career high of 40.
