Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Healthcare and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Property Development PLC (CM:PDL), which rose 34.31% or 26.80 points to trade at 104.90 at the close. People’s Merchant Finance PLC (CM:PMB) added 18.79% or 3.10 points to end at 19.60 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) was up 17.32% or 182.90 points to 1239.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 in late trade. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) declined 7.89% or 6.00 points to end at 70.00 and Eastern Merchants PLC (CM:EMER) shed 7.69% or 0.50 points to 6.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 69 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.30% or 0.16 to $53.93 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $56.97 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.25% or 2.95 to trade at $1161.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.49% to 182.340, while USD/LKR fell 0.88% to 148.440.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 102.20.
