Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Land & Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 22.24% or 300.20 points to trade at 1650.00 at the close. Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL) added 20.32% or 3.80 points to end at 22.50 and Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) was up 19.23% or 20.00 points to 124.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI), which lost 10.59% or 9.00 points to trade at 76.00 in late trade. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 7.14% or 0.100 points to end at 1.300 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) shed 6.94% or 1.50 points to 20.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 88 to 85 and 49 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.16% or 0.08 to $49.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.68% or 0.34 to hit $50.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.15 to trade at $1213.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 216.205, while USD/LKR fell 0.09% to 147.720.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.62.
