Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Services, Telecoms and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.66% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 24.20% or 170.10 points to trade at 872.90 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which lost 20.83% or 9.50 points to trade at 36.10 in late trade. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 19.35% or 300.00 points to end at 1250.00 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) shed 11.64% or 172.40 points to 1309.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 61 and 57 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.98% or 0.57 to $58.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.08% or 0.05 to hit $63.60 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.54 to trade at $1289.66 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.17% to 204.830, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 153.760.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 93.03.
