Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Plantations sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH) added 25.00% or 0.300 points to end at 1.500 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK), which lost 24.19% or 3.00 points to trade at 9.40 in late trade. Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) declined 10.37% or 8.10 points to end at 70.00 and Dolphin Hotels PLC (CM:STAF) shed 8.42% or 2.30 points to 25.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 78 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.42% or 0.29 to $68.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.23% or 0.18 to hit $78.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.10 to trade at $1211.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.70% to 214.870, while USD/LKR rose 0.55% to 163.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.48.
