Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Construction & Engineering and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR), which rose 24.61% or 343.60 points to trade at 1740.00 at the close. Anilana Hotels & Properties Ltd (CM:ANIL) added 8.33% or 0.100 points to end at 1.300 and Chemanex PLC (CM:CHMX) was up 5.70% or 2.80 points to 51.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 17.26% or 255.70 points to trade at 1226.00 in late trade. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) shed 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 63 and 67 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.80% or 0.55 to $69.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.10% or 0.81 to hit $74.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.30 to trade at $1223.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.21% to 207.255, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 159.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 94.92.
