Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Plantations and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) added 10.76% or 2.40 points to end at 24.70 and F L C Hydro Power PLC (CM:HYDP) was up 10.53% or 0.60 points to 6.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR), which lost 12.68% or 87.10 points to trade at 600.00 in late trade. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) declined 9.90% or 9.90 points to end at 90.10 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) shed 9.26% or 125.00 points to 1225.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 61 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.30% or 0.62 to $48.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.16% or 0.57 to hit $49.83 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.19% or 2.55 to trade at $1320.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.19% to 197.480, while USD/LKR rose 0.17% to 147.950.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 95.99.
