Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Plantations, Information Technology and Motors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Taprobane Holdings PLC (CM:TAPR), which rose 13.46% or 0.700 points to trade at 5.900 at the close. Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) added 11.11% or 3.40 points to end at 34.00 and Dipped Products PLC (CM:DIPD) was up 8.60% or 7.40 points to 93.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 in late trade. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 19.35% or 300.00 points to end at 1250.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) shed 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 65 and 61 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.14% or 0.08 to $57.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.43% or 0.27 to hit $63.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.29 to trade at $1291.91 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 204.440, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 153.660.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 93.08.
