Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Plantations and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP), which rose 23.08% or 0.300 points to trade at 1.600 at the close. Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) added 14.50% or 2.90 points to end at 22.90 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.4000 in late trade. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) declined 17.04% or 11.30 points to end at 55.00 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) shed 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 71 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.69% or 0.47 to $68.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.29% or 0.21 to hit $73.27 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1226.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.16% to 209.380, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 159.510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 94.29.
