Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Power & Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 25.00% or 450.00 points to end at 2250.00 and People`s Merchant Finance PLC (CM:PMB) was up 13.66% or 3.10 points to 25.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 8.33% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.20 in late trade. Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) declined 8.29% or 17.40 points to end at 192.50 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) shed 7.14% or 0.10 points to 1.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 156 to 78 and 13 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.53% or 0.23 to $42.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.71% or 0.34 to hit $47.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.39% or 4.40 to trade at $1127.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.22% to 207.715, while USD/LKR rose 0.37% to 134.785.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 95.60.
