Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Diversified Holdings and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) added 24.16% or 14.40 points to end at 74.00 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was up 18.11% or 268.30 points to 1750.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 25.00% or 3375.00 points to trade at 10125.00 in late trade. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) declined 22.33% or 319.20 points to end at 1110.40 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) shed 14.33% or 13.40 points to 80.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 122 to 90 and 44 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.16% or 0.07 to $44.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $47.03 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.13% or 14.47 to trade at $1261.43 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.07% to 194.950, while USD/LKR fell 0.10% to 152.850.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 97.26.
