Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Trading and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.14% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which rose 19.05% or 20.00 points to trade at 125.00 at the close. Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) added 14.74% or 80.30 points to end at 624.90 and Eastern Merchants PLC (CM:EMER) was up 14.67% or 1.10 points to 8.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY), which lost 12.09% or 52.00 points to trade at 378.00 in late trade. Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL) declined 7.14% or 3.50 points to end at 45.50 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) shed 7.01% or 4.20 points to 55.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 120 to 56 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.10% or 0.52 to $46.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.16% or 0.57 to hit $48.59 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1343.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.15% to 190.760, while USD/LKR fell 0.17% to 145.275.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.38.
