Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Power & Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV), which rose 18.87% or 55.00 points to trade at 346.50 at the close. Elpitiya Plantations PLC (CM:ELPL) added 11.35% or 2.60 points to end at 25.50 and Dolphin Hotels PLC (CM:STAF) was up 10.69% or 5.60 points to 58.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 15.98% or 399.40 points to trade at 2100.00 in late trade. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 14.29% or 0.20 points to end at 1.40 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) shed 14.29% or 0.10 points to 0.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 110 to 109 and 18 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.22% or 0.11 to $49.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.41% or 0.21 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.93% or 10.70 to trade at $1166.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.21% to 214.925, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 140.305.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 94.75.
