Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Plantations and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kalpitiya Beach Resort PLC (CM:CITK), which rose 16.13% or 0.500 points to trade at 3.600 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was up 12.78% or 182.60 points to 1611.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which lost 10.29% or 7.00 points to trade at 61.00 in late trade. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) declined 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) shed 9.70% or 161.20 points to 1500.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 72 and 44 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.20% or 0.09 to $45.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $47.24 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1319.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.50% to 193.550, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 146.130.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.04.
