Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Land & Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.85% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which rose 33.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) added 19.23% or 2.50 points to end at 15.50 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was up 19.19% or 11.90 points to 73.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which lost 11.43% or 3.20 points to trade at 24.80 in late trade. Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) declined 11.06% or 4.50 points to end at 36.20 and George Steuart Finance Ltd (CM:GEOR) shed 7.33% or 1.70 points to 21.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 136 to 39 and 49 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.79% or 0.49 to $61.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.73% or 0.50 to hit $67.57 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 3.10 to trade at $1318.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 207.885, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 153.540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 91.78.
