Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Services, Stores & Supplies and Trading sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Asia Capital PLC (CM:ACAP) added 21.25% or 1.70 points to end at 9.70 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was up 20.75% or 83.00 points to 483.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH), which lost 14.29% or 2.80 points to trade at 16.80 in late trade. Singer Industries PLC (CM:SINI) declined 8.75% or 14.00 points to end at 146.00 and Chemanex PLC (CM:CHMX) shed 8.24% or 5.70 points to 63.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 134 to 51 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.90% or 0.54 to $60.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.05% or 0.67 to hit $64.28 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1320.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.10% to 214.695, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 155.460.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 90.20.
