Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Plantations and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.40% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) added 10.00% or 0.60 points to end at 6.60 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) was up 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 in late trade. Mahaweli Reach Hotel PLC (CM:MRH) declined 14.14% or 2.80 points to end at 17.00 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) shed 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 58 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.52% or 0.32 to $61.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.22% or 0.15 to hit $67.77 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.70 to trade at $1321.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 208.330, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 153.810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 91.89.
