Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Manufacturing and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.28% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amaya Leisure PLC (CM:CONN), which rose 14.34% or 7.40 points to trade at 59.00 at the close. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) added 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) was up 10.38% or 120.40 points to 1280.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which lost 9.52% or 20.00 points to trade at 190.10 in late trade. Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) declined 7.14% or 0.10 points to end at 1.30 and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) shed 6.67% or 0.50 points to 7.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 65 and 74 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $52.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $58.35 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.67 to trade at $1279.67 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.33% to 203.170, while USD/LKR fell 0.19% to 153.550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.58.
