Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Land & Property, Plantations and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF), which rose 20.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.200 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 19.30% or 13.70 points to end at 84.70 and Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) was up 17.78% or 240.00 points to 1590.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which lost 9.40% or 17.90 points to trade at 172.50 in late trade. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 8.33% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) shed 6.80% or 1.70 points to 23.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 68 and 62 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.98% or 0.56 to $57.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.14% or 0.71 to hit $63.24 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.36 to trade at $1280.74 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.02% to 206.645, while USD/LKR fell 0.16% to 153.540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.36.
