Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Power & Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 40.00% or 0.2000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT) added 19.04% or 14.30 points to end at 89.40 and Ceylon and Foreign Trades PLC (CM:CFT) was up 12.07% or 0.70 points to 6.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which lost 12.73% or 89.10 points to trade at 611.00 in late trade. Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) shed 6.98% or 3.00 points to 40.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 47 and 54 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.15% or 0.09 to $59.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.14% or 0.09 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.20 to trade at $1294.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.98% to 206.280, while USD/LKR rose 0.70% to 153.490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 92.46.
