Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Motors sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which rose 15.04% or 1.70 points to trade at 13.00 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 22.58% or 350.00 points to trade at 1200.00 in late trade. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 14.73% or 198.80 points to end at 1151.20 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) shed 9.52% or 43.80 points to 416.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 77 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.59% or 0.34 to $58.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.07% or 0.69 to hit $65.38 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1245.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.30% to 204.060, while USD/LKR fell 0.22% to 153.090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.85.
