Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Motors and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 28.25% or 15.20 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 18.03% or 12.80 points to end at 83.80 and Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT) was up 10.87% or 9.60 points to 97.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which lost 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 in late trade. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 19.35% or 300.00 points to end at 1250.00 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) shed 19.01% or 281.70 points to 1200.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 75 and 69 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.81% or 0.47 to $57.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.93% or 0.59 to hit $62.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1294.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.32% to 206.180, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 153.790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.11.
