Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Developers and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 1.34% or 0.98 points to trade at 73.97 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 1.29% or 0.32 points to end at 25.09 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 0.96% or 0.33 points to 34.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 2.77% or 192.65 points to trade at 6752.35 in late trade. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 1.72% or 1.94 points to end at 110.53 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) shed 1.55% or 0.10 points to 6.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 228 to 228 and 185 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.13% or 0.96 to $46.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.90% or 0.91 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.77 to trade at $1223.47 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.13% to 4.2339, while USD/PLN fell 0.39% to 3.7107.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 95.64.
