Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 4.35% or 0.515 points to trade at 12.345 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 2.91% or 0.825 points to end at 29.210 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL) was up 1.12% or 0.095 points to 8.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 2.65% or 0.260 points to trade at 9.570 in late trade. Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) declined 1.00% or 0.190 points to end at 18.725 and Endesa (MC:ELE) shed 0.90% or 0.165 points to 18.125.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 87 and 14 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.30% or 4.00 to $1318.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $61.48 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $67.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.1970, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 92.07.
