Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were FCC (MADRID:FCC), which rose 5.24% or 0.466 points to trade at 9.362 at the close. Endesa (MADRID:ELE) added 3.74% or 0.680 points to end at 18.885 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MADRID:TRE) was up 3.18% or 1.385 points to 44.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MADRID:DIDA), which lost 5.01% or 0.326 points to trade at 6.181 in late trade. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) declined 0.99% or 0.180 points to end at 18.015 and Enagas (MADRID:ENAG) shed 0.33% or 0.085 points to 25.440.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 149 to 56 and 6 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.00 to $1094.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.58% or 0.75 to hit $48.14 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.23 to trade at $53.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1053, while EUR/GBP fell 0.67% to 0.7078.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 96.78.
