Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 4.60% or 0.470 points to trade at 10.695 at the close. Bankia (MC:BKIA) added 2.21% or 0.019 points to end at 0.877 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 2.01% or 0.098 points to 4.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which lost 2.99% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.598 in late trade. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) declined 2.02% or 0.120 points to end at 5.833 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) shed 1.76% or 0.170 points to 9.465.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 80 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1233.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.65% or 0.27 to hit $41.44 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.11 to trade at $43.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1314, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7927.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 94.47.
